Ora

Voice-to-text that stays in your flow.

Ora is private voice-to-text that helps you dictate where you already work. Record with a shortcut, speak naturally, and send finished text to the cursor in front of you.

Dictate into the app you already have open

Voice dictation is most useful when it does not require a new editor or a copy-and-paste step. Ora starts from a global shortcut, then lets you write in the app you are already using, whether that is Mail, Slack, Xcode, or a browser.

The basic flow: trigger Ora, speak your thought, let Ora shape the words, then place the completed text at your cursor.

Use a transcription path that fits the moment

Ora lets you choose where transcription happens. Use an on-device engine when an offline path matters, or select a cloud provider with your own API key when streaming or a specific model is the better fit. The choice is visible rather than hidden behind a single default.

Turn speech into writing that fits the job

Raw transcription is only the first pass. Ora Modes combine an engine, an enhancement prompt, and an output behavior so email can sound warm, code can remain literal, and meeting notes can become clear decisions. You can also teach Ora names, jargon, and replacements once, globally or for an individual Mode.

Built for a Mac workflow

Ora can be controlled from the menu bar, floating recorder, notch indicator, Shortcuts, or a custom hotkey. Its dashboard and history are designed to show your own patterns across apps and Modes, not to report your activity to someone else.
